Privacy Policy

Who we are

PickFlow (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an Australian home tech and smart device comparison site. We help you compare prices across major retailers — including Amazon, eBay, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, Kogan, The Good Guys, Officeworks and Catch — so you can find the best deal in one place.

Our website address is: https://pickflow.co. If you have any questions about this policy or your personal information, email us at pickflowco.ai@gmail.com.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you’re visiting from the EU/UK or California, see “Your privacy rights” below for the extra rights that may apply to you.

Affiliate links and disclosure

PickFlow is reader-supported. Our articles, reviews and price-comparison tables contain affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This never changes the price you pay and never influences our recommendations.

When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or affiliate network sets a cookie that tells them PickFlow referred you. This lets them attribute any resulting purchase to us. We don’t see your payment details — those stay between you and the retailer. We work with affiliate networks and programs including Amazon Associates, Commission Factory (Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Kogan, Officeworks, Catch), eBay Partner Network, ShareASale, PartnerStack and Impact.com. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

Email list and product requests

If you sign up for our deals alerts or newsletter, we collect your email address (and name, if you provide it) and store it with our email provider, Kit (formerly ConvertKit). We use it to send you product picks, deal alerts and updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.

If you use our “Find a Product” request form, we collect the details you submit (such as the product you’re after and your email address) so we can send you relevant deals and price comparisons in response. We use this information only to handle your request and follow up with you.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console to understand how visitors find and use PickFlow — for example, which pages are popular and how people reach us from search. This data is aggregated and helps us improve the site.

With your consent, we also use advertising and measurement tools — including the Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Pinterest Tag and Google Ads — to measure the performance of our content and to show you relevant ads on those platforms after you’ve visited PickFlow (known as retargeting). You can manage or withdraw consent at any time through our cookie banner.

Cookies and consent

We use cookies to make the site work, remember your preferences, measure traffic and (with your consent) support advertising. When you first visit, our consent banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies, so you don’t have to re-enter them next time. These cookies last for one year. If you visit our login page (admin users only), we set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies; it contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, product widgets). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run PickFlow — our email provider (Kit), analytics and advertising platforms (Google, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest), affiliate networks, our hosting provider and spam-detection services — and only as needed to deliver the service to you. Some of these providers are based overseas, which means your information may be processed outside Australia. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. If you subscribe to our email list, we keep your details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. For registered users, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile; users can see, edit or delete that information at any time (except their username), and administrators can also see and edit it.

Your privacy rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time. To make a request, email pickflowco.ai@gmail.com. We may need to keep some information where we’re required to for administrative, legal or security reasons.

If you’re in the EU/UK, you also have rights under the GDPR — including data portability and the right to object to or restrict processing. If you’re a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what we collect and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We honour these requests regardless of where you live.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including secure hosting and encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to keep our providers held to the same standard.

Children

PickFlow is intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our site and the tools we use evolve. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we’ll provide a more prominent notice.
